The SURFACESAVER 90 is the best alternative to a rubber mat for forward plate tampers. Designed for use on clay pavers, textured surface pavers and slabs to minimize chipping, scuffing, "white capping" and cracking.

It allows the compaction force to be transmitted through the frame to compact the pavers and fill joint sand. It is shown here with the PAVERPACKER 50, but will work with the different width plate sizes of other brands of compactors. Since there is no longer any amplitude (compactor does not leave ground), the compactor will need to be pushed or pulled when used. This works well in tight corners near a building where the compactor normally needs to be turned around before finishing the job. Because the SURFACESAVER 90 rolls over the pavers, versus a rubber mat being dragged, the heavy duty rubber coated rollers should provide much longer life over most mats.

The adjustable width clamps "bite down" on the top of the plate to keep the compactor securely mounted. There are 2 carbide tipped bolts on each clamp for added grip. Attaching and detaching the compactor only takes a couple of minutes.
