SANDLOCK® is a joint sand stabilizer additive for flexible and semi-rigid pavement systems using segmental pavers. When activated with water, SANDLOCK® forms a natural, rubberized 'glue', that binds the joint sand. SANDLOCK® remains flexible and will accommodate thermal movement. Its ‘self healing’ properties allow SANDLOCK® to rebind loosened material with any moisture. SANDLOCK® is excellent for concrete, clay brick or natural stone pavements. SANDLOCK® prevents sand loss due to wind, traffic, moisture or thermal movement. SANDLOCK® does not dilute like water based chemical sealers or break down from ultraviolet light. It will save time and money over chemical joint stabilizers. Compaction and stabilization are both done at once. No harsh chemical cleaners are needed prior to application.
SANDLOCK® is available as an Additive and Premix. Custom Gradation Blends available upon request. Call for information.
SANDLOCK® Additive
SANDLOCK® ADDITIVE can be mixed with joint sand on the job site. Mix approximately 4-5 pounds of SANDLOCK® for every 100 pounds of joint sand (fine sands may require more) and sweep into joints with a broom. Continue spreading the sand/SANDLOCK® mix with a broom during compaction until joints are full. Sweep off excess, followed by a blower to further clean the surface, then activate by gently saturating the surface with water. Then let it set. NO additional steps are required.

Continue spreading SANDLOCK® PREMIX with a broom during compaction until the joints are full. Sweep off excess SANDLOCK® PREMIX, followed by a blower to further clean the surface, then activate by gently saturating the surface with water. Then let it set. NO additional steps are required.

Application WARNING
1. In paver areas where there are periods of prolonged moisture, the use of SANDLOCK® is not recommended.
2. Do not use SANDLOCK® treated joint sand if you are planning on using a coating type sealer such as acrylics, epoxy, or urethane. The solids in the sealers will be sufficient to bind the joint sand.
3. If applying a coating type sealer to pavers with SANDLOCK® stabilized joints in moisture prone areas, there is a risk of mold or mildew in the joints.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE with Standard Paver Joints
Directions for use on wide joints
INSTALL PAVERS
Install pavers on 1" of bedding sand as recommend by ICPI specifications. It is not necessary to stabilize bedding sand.
SANDLOCK®
Use SANDLOCK® only for joint sand stabilization. Do not stage or mix SANDLOCK® on asphalt. SANDLOCK® attracts any moisture and will dry the oils in asphalt.
SANDLOCK® use on Bituminous set pavers is an appropriate application. Due to lack of drainage, joint sand will remain soft for extended periods of time
SWEEP AND COMPACT JOINT SAND
Sweep all SANDLOCK® into paver joints. Compact the pavers to insure proper interlock. Remove all excess material from the surface of pavers. Any excess material on the pavers will require pressure washing to remove once activated.
SANDLOCK® is activated by gently saturating the pavement with water. Do not use a pressure washer to flood the joints (joint sand may be removed).
